Peach Plum Pear

You know, every Friday after school I tell myself I will come home and actually study for once, but all good intentions are abandoned the moment I sit down in front of the computer.
I love my Friday afternoon schedule. It basically involves trawling Youtube for new bands and live performances.
There was For The Love Of God by Steve Vai, which he played with an orchestra, and it was really awesome. The oboe solo was stunning. And he is scarily good.
I love Owen Pallett's cover of Peach Plum Pear. Don't really like the original by Joanna Newsom though, her voice doesn't appeal to me. And Owen Pallett is kind of awesome, but I don't really get most of his other stuff.
I love the indie-ness of indie bands. (:
Oh and I suddenly had this urge to play the piano again. I get it once in a while. I actually like playing the piano, I just happen to be exceptionally bad at it.
Ahahahhahaha according to Wikipedia (which is totally awesome) under a search for indie rock, I listen to:
Britpop
Indie pop
Post-punk revival (not so much anymore)
Baroque pop (YES)
Indie folk
Whee!~
Haha the ~ was totally by accident. :D

15 Step

I was going to make this quick, because there are 2938547298457 other things I am supposed to be doing, but then I realised I am going to type a lot.
Just now I was quite pissed, at myself and also because apparently, 15 Step was played in Twilight's credits. First Supermassive Black Hole in the soundtrack, and now this? Muse, Radiohead, why. >:(
In other words, Thom Yorke!! Cute and spazzy. :D (I have no idea if the word spazzy exists or what it means, but it feels appropriate) My love for Radiohead is not waning. They have been monopolising my ipod for more than a week, I think. Trying to diversify now. Heh.
Also, two people pinched my cheeks today! This never happens. What happened?
Oh yes and Daisy is awesome awesome stuff and I will see her again on Friday!! and Hamsty's banana shirt is cool and she still ranks high on my list of most huggable people ever. (:
A red sun rises, blood has been spilt this night.
Says the pretty elf. ('Tis true.)
Love you.
P.S- I am not the biggest fan of 15 Step, but the thing at the Grammys was pretty cool. :D (I = Band geek)

It's What You Need

Hello~!
I felt that I must record this monumental moment!
a) It is a Monday night (note: weekday).
b) I had PE today (okay I cheated but it was still physical exertion).
c) I slept for four hours last night, tops.
AND I DID A WHOLE GP ARTICLE REFLECTION FROM SCRATCH. LIKE REALLY. And this is such an extremely big deal because I never actually do substantial homework on weeknights, if at all, and just. Plus it's only eleven thirty! And thus far I have not fallen asleep and I'm not even on coffee. :D
In other sad news, MY ENGLISH FAILS. I had to google monumental and exertion to see if I got the spellings right. And doing summaries is such a chore, words used to pop up at me but now I just stare blankly at my paper for ten minutes, trying to paraphrase.
And basically, that just means I have to start reading again. Ugh I suck, really. I think I am unable to read a book properly now and that just really scares me.

Your Ex-Lover Is Dead

I miss you like crazy.

Going, Going, Gone

Oh oh oh wow I'm listening to a (supposedly) live version of Going, going, gone on Stars' Myspace and just. So much love. They sound so good. Okay and Amy Millan and Torquil Campbell sound like they're doing a Disney ballet but who cares they are just awesome.
Still hooked on cellophane
Hanging 'round the mall, and all
Each penny numbs the pain
Sends you gently for the fall
I am just kind of... swamped in Stars love.
Take me, take me to the riot
Edit: Okay, and there was this video with this caption: This is our friend ben doing a song some of you might know....he's dreamy isn't he? xo stars
And okay he's good and it makes my hair stand and then it ends and I realise it's Ben Gibbard.
Indie bands, <3.
